Sisters Chan Yung-jan and Chan Hao-ching of Taiwan both reached the women's doubles quarterfinals at Wimbledon on Monday. It is the first time that either of the Chan sisters had got past the third round at the championships. While seeking their first grand slam title, the sisters have also both set new records for themselves this year.
In the third round, Chan Yung-jan and Martina Hingis beat Sania Mirza and Kirsten Flipkens 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 12 minutes. Chan Yung-jan teamed up with the former Wimbledon singles champion in February. The pair have enjoyed success on hard courts and on clay as well as on Wimbledon's grass courts.
Also on Monday, Chan Hao-ching and Monica Niculescu defeated Haddad Maia and Ana Konjuh, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 in their third round match in one hour and 59 minutes.
