Taipei, The weather is expected to remain chilly in northern Taiwan on Monday due to lingering seasonal northeasterly winds, but will turn drier as a moist front moves away, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.
Daytime highs on Monday were forecast at 17-19 degrees in northern Taiwan, 21-22 degrees in the east, and 25-28 degrees in central and southern regions.
With the moisture decreasing, rain is not likely, except in some areas in eastern Taiwan, the CWB said.
The northeasterly winds will weaken Tuesday and the skies across Taiwan will be clear to partly cloudy until Wednesday when the northeasterly winds strengthen again and a new front arrives, bringing rain and cooler weather to northern Taiwan, the bureau said.
The front is expected to begin to weaken on Thursday, and the weather will be clear and stable for the Lantern Festival on Friday, the CWB said.
