Taipei, Northeasterly winds are expected to continue for the next few days, keeping temperatures cool and bringing rain to northern and northeastern parts of Taiwan, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Saturday.
According to the weather bureau, daytime lows of 14-16 degrees Celsius are forecast for cities and counties north of Miaoli County until Monday, and lows of 16-18 degrees will be seen in other parts of the country.
The weather will warm up slightly starting Tuesday, although occasional showers will persist for a few more days due to a passing tropical depression forming north of the Philippines, the bureau said.
The depression, which will not have any direct impact on Taiwan, is currently moving in a westerly direction toward Vietnam.
Starting next Thursday, another wave of northeasterly winds will arrive, this time bringing drier weather throughout much of Taiwan for the remainder of the week, the CWB said.
Meanwhile, the bureau said there is a chance that Taiwan’s high mountains could see their first snowfall on Monday.
