Taipei, A staff member at Taiwan’s representative office in Greece has tested positive for COVID-19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said on Friday.
The employee at the Athens office entered a 14-day quarantine period after being diagnosed on Wednesday, and will not return to work until doctors have given the all clear, MOFA said in a press statement.
Staff members who have come into contact with the individual have been asked to self-isolate, during which time the remaining staff will work in rotating shifts, MOFA said.
The office has been thoroughly disinfected and is currently operating on an appointment-only basis, it added.
As of Thursday, Greece had reported 66,637 COVID-19 cases and 959 fatalities, according to statistics compiled by Worldometer.
