National Security Bureau head Peng Sheng-chu says cross-strait ties are tense. He was speaking Monday at the legislature.
Peng said China still has expectations for President Tsai Ing-wen's administration and that its stance on the DPP government is not set in stone.
However, Peng said that because the two sides no longer conduct official exchanges, the future looks bleak. He also said China will continue to make things difficult for Taiwan in the international community.
