Drier Sunday, but wet, cold week ahead

Taipei-The weather throughout Taiwan on Sunday will be warmer and drier, but the coming week will be wet and cold starting from Monday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

Due to a reduction in moisture around Taiwan, the weather across the island will be partially cloudy Sunday, with areas in northern and northeastern Taiwan to receive brief showers, CWB forecaster Hsu Chung-yi (???) said.

He added chances are high that residents in southern and central Taiwan could enjoy sunshine.

Daytime highs in northern Taiwan on Sunday were forecast at around 22 degrees Celsius, while those in eastern Taiwan could reach 22-24 degrees, central Taiwan 25 degrees, and the south 28 degrees. Lows will hover between 17-19 degrees in the early morning and at night.

As a front system will pass through Taiwan late Sunday, the weather throughout the country will turn rainy and the mercury could dip to 14 degrees from Monday to Friday, according to the CWB.

Daytime highs are expected to range between 19-20 degrees next week, Hsu forecast.
