Taipei--A magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred off Yilan County in eastern Taiwan at 6:10 a.m Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
The earthquake's epicenter was located at sea about 63.7 kilometers southeast of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 41.6 km, the bureau said.
The earthquake's highest intensity, which gauges the actual effect of a temblor, was highest in Niudou in Yilan, where it measured 4 on Taiwan's 7-tiered intensity scale.
No injures or damage have been reported from across the county, the local fire department said.
According to the Taiwan Railways Administration and Directorate General of Highways, all trains and traffic were running normally, and no roads, bridges or channels were damaged.
