Taipei--A magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred off the coast of Yilan in northeastern Taiwan Monday morning, with the strongest intensity being felt in the county's Luodong Township, the Central Weather Bureau said.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 7:48 a.m., was located in the East China Sea, some 24.7 kilometers to the east of Yilan County hall and at a depth of 12.1 kilometers, according to the bureau's seismological center.
A lesser intensity of one was felt in Yilan City and in New Taipei City's Sandiaojiao to the north and Hualien County's Heping to the south.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
