Taipei--The current good weather will last until Monday night across Taiwan, when an approaching front will arrive and bring northeasterly winds and rain to some parts of the country, the Central Weather Bureau said Sunday.
From Monday night, temperatures could begin to fall, and from Tuesday to Friday, lows in northern Taiwan are expected to drop by more than 10 degrees Celsius to around 18-19 degrees, the bureau said, adding that rain will be more conspicuous on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The effects of the northeasterly winds are likely to last until Friday, and the temperature will rebound with sunny skies on Saturday.
The bureau also forecast that a cloud system has been forming west of the island of Guam, but that it has to wait until Thursday or Friday to decide whether it will develop into a tropical depression, which could be the first of its kind this year.
On Sunday, the day's highs across the country are forecast to hit more than 30 degrees, it said.
