Taipei--Areas around Taiwan and the offshore islands of Matsu, Penghu and Kinmen will see largely cloudy to sunny weather on Sunday, with daytime highs expected to hit 33-35 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Meanwhile, western Taiwan as well as mountainous areas of northeastern Taiwan and other parts of the island could receive occasional thunderstorms or heavy showers in the afternoon, the CWB said.
Temperatures will remain high around Taiwan, with daytime highs to hit 34-35 degrees in western Taiwan and 33-34 degrees in eastern Taiwan, the CWB said.
Ultraviolet radiation level could reach excessive amounts or a dangerous level, the CWB said, advising people to drink a lot of water and take precautions against sunburn and heat stroke when going outdoors.
