Taipei, A man from Indonesia fell Wednesday from a platform at Zhongli train station, disrupting traffic and delaying 950 passengers.
According to information provided by Taiwan Railways Administration, the man, who is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, was hit by the 1204 train from Miaoli to Keelung at 3:32 p.m. after falling from platform one onto the railways line and scrambling for cover.
The 31-year-old man, who sustained a laceration on the left side of his forehead, was rushed to hospital in an ambulance but suffered no life threatening injuries.
Trains resumed normal operation at 3:52 p.m. after railway police finished gathering evidence. The incident delayed the departure of 950 passengers on two trains.
