Kinmen 10k run held to boost tourism

The outlying island of Kinmen held a 10-kilometer run on Sunday, attracting more than 1,000 runners in a bid to boost tourism.

Of the 1,028 people who registered to participate, 120 came from mainland China, 591 from Taiwan proper, and 38 from abroad.

One highlight of theevent was the distribution of consumer vouchers worth NT$300 (US$9.4) to each runner for shopping exclusively in the township of Jinsha, where the run was held.

The local tourism association says that five more similar races will be held next year in Kinmen to boost tourism.
