Taipei, June 16 (CANA) Alex Tsai (???), director of the Policy Committee of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), said Friday that he will serve as chairman of an automobile company based in China's Jiangsu Province.
The former lawmaker said he expressed his intention to resign orally to outgoing KMT Chairwoman Hung Hsiu-chu (???) early this year, and is scheduled to leave his post at the end of June to serve as chairman of Min'An Automobile Co.
The auto company is a joint venture of Taiwan's Minth Group and China's Huai'an Development Holding Co., with paid-in capital of US$130 million.
Hung arrived in Nanjing a day earlier to the welcome of Zhang Zhijun (???), head of the Taiwan Affairs Office under China's State Council, before heading for nearby Huai'an.
She attended the opening of a new energy R&D center of the company Friday.
Huang will address a Taiwan-Straits forum June 18. In addition to attending the forum, she will also meet with Yu Zhengsheng (???) chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference during her stay in China.
Hung has announced that she will step down at the end of June as KMT chairwoman to prepare for the handover of the chair to her successor, former Vice President Wu Den-yih (???).
