Legislature pres and vice pres not allowed to take party posts

The president and vice president of the legislature will be barred from holding posts in political parties. That's according to the revision to the organization of the Legislative Yuan.

The legislature on Friday passed the third reading of the revision. Under the revision, the head and deputy head of the legislature must handle legislative issues based on the principles of fairness and impartiality.

To ease public concerns on agreements reached behind the scenes, the revision also stipulates that the legislative session must be held openly, and a closed-door meeting will be held only if necessary.
