The defense ministry says that China’s aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, has left Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone.
The Liaoning had entered the zone early Wednesday on its return from Hong Kong. The carrier had docked there as part of celebrations marking 20 years since the territory’s return to Chinese rule.
The defense ministry said the carrier left the zone early Thursday. It says it monitored the carrier’s passage through the zone and said there were no noteworthy movements.
