Taiwan’s unemployment rate for March hit a 21-month low of 3.78%. It’s also the second lowest in 17 years. That’s the word from the government statistics office on Monday.
The figure is 0.05% lower than February and 0.11 percentage points lower than a year earlier.
Statistics official Pan Nin-hsing said it shows that Taiwan’s labor market is stabilizing.
Taiwan’s unemployment rate for the first quarter this year, was an average of 3.81%. That figure is 0.1 percentage points lower than last year and the lowest first quarter unemployment rate for Taiwan in 16 years.
