Mercury rises to 37.1 degrees C in Taipei

Taipei, Temperatures rose above 37 degrees Celsius in Taipei again Tuesday as much of Taiwan continued to be engulfed in intense heat.

The Taipei weather station recorded a temperature of 37.1 degrees at 11:55 a.m., the third time the mercury at the station has exceeded 37 degrees in May this year.

Continuous warm weather has kept Taipei residents sweating since the beginning of the month. There have been 12 days with temperatures warmer than 35 degrees since May 1, the most recorded in the month by the Taipei weather station in its history.
