The Ministry of Energy therefore proposes measures to reduce the burden of energy costs in 2 areas:

1. Measures to reduce the burden of fuel expenses

• Price of diesel fuel Fix the price of diesel fuel not to exceed 30 baht per liter from 20 September 2023 to 31 December 2023, using the mechanisms of the excise tax and the fuel fund.

• Price of gasoline The Ministry of Energy will consider details of targeted assistance to vulnerable groups of gasoline users, such as motorcycle taxi and taxi groups. and present it to the Cabinet for consideration again. In the meantime, retail prices must be regulated so that the marketing margin is at an appropriate level, approximately 2.00 baht per liter, in accordance with the resolution of the FBO.

• Price of cooking gas (LPG) fixed the retail price of LPG at 423 baht per 15 kilogram tank from 1 October 2023 to 31 December 2023 through the Fuel Fund mechanism, including measures to help reduce the price of cooking gas. with low income people or target groups Through the state welfare card

2. Measures to reduce the burden of electricity costs

• Reduce the electricity tariff announced to be charged to electricity consumers for the period September to December 2023 at the rate of 4.45 baht per unit down to the rate of 4.10 baht per unit by the Ministry of Energy in collaboration with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). Will proceed with discussions with relevant agencies. In calculating the price of natural gas, Pool gas must not exceed a fixed estimate of approximately 305 baht per million BTU. and the difference between the actual natural gas price and the collected natural gas price shall be gradually collected back. This will allow the price of electricity to be reduced further.

In addition, there will be additional measures to help reduce electricity bills for vulnerable groups, such as giving discounts on electricity bills to residential electricity users who use no more than 150 units of electricity per month. The Ministry of Energy will work with relevant agencies to consider and present to the Cabinet. With measures to reduce the burden of energy costs in both areas, the Cabinet has assigned relevant agencies to support further operations.
