Taipei, The New Taipei City Fire Department signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Isabela Province in the Philippines Tuesday to promote exchanges in firefighting and other disaster relief efforts.
According to the fire department, this marks the first time that the department has worked with the Philippines in this regard, and it expressed hope that the collaboration will enhance both parties' firefighting and other disaster relief skills.
Under the terms of the MOU, the two will attend each other's training sessions, classes and seminars and share experience and knowledge pertaining to emergency rescue, disaster prevention, and community campaigns to raise awareness about such methods of prevention.
In recent years, New Taipei's fire department has been increasing its international collaborations, exchanging visits with relevant agencies in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Greece.
