Non-peak hour train services to be cut in major schedule adjustment

Starting Oct. 20, 86 scheduled trains will either be terminated or have their routes shortened due to labor shortages, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced Tuesday.

The affected services are mainly those operating during off-peak hours that have low passenger rates, the TRA said.

Meanwhile, two new Tze-Chiang Limited Express services will be operated on Fridays and Sundays between Shulin in New Taipei and Taitung City and between Nangang in Taipei City and Chaozhou in Pingtung County, according to the TRA.

The new train schedules have been published on the TRA's website.
