Taipei, Nov. 20 (CNA) The number of migrant workers in Taiwan surpassed 700,000 in October for the first time in 15 years, the Ministry of Labor (MOL) reported Tuesday.

As of the end of October, 703,162 foreign workers were employed in the country, 446,779 of whom were employed in various industries while 256,383 were working in social welfare, including caregiving and domestic help, according to MOL statistics.
