Taiwan's southeastern county of Taitung was jolted by four earthquakes overnight, including one with a magnitude of 4.5 at 04:05 a.m. Friday, the Central Weather Bureau said.
During the magnitude 4.5 earthquake, an intensity of 3 was felt in Taitung's Donghe township just north of Taitung City.
Local emergency services said the earthquakes only caused minor damage to a few building in the county and there were no report of injuries.
Some residents in eastern Taiwan posted pictures of overturned bottles on their Facebook pages, with some saying they were worried that there might be more earthquake after they went back to sleep.
Earthquakes are common in eastern Taiwan's Taitung and Hualien Counties and those under magnitude 6 usually do not cause serious damage.
