Sha Yang Ye Robotic Dreams Future Factory to expand operations - Mayor Cheng: Creating a platform to encourage business-education partnerships and empower the Asian Silicon Valley Dream

While attending the opening ceremony for the expanded operations for Sha Yang Ye Robotic Dreams Future Factory on October 11th 2016, Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan expressed that Sha Yang Ye Robotic Dreams Factory was able to be successfully certified to the International Premium Spot Tourism Factory of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in 2016, allowing the company to expand its exhibit venue from 661 square meters to nearly 3,500 square meters. Investments for the new site totaled nearly NT$ 500 million and would include 22 theme-based exhibits, making it a new milestone for Taiwan's robotics sector. Sha Yang Ye Robotic Dreams Future Factory not only provides a platform for business, academic, and government collaboration. The core product of Sha Yang Ye, the Gear, will help to empower the dreams of the Asian Silicon Valley to make Taiwan more competitive.

Mayor Cheng pointed out that Sha Yang Ye Inc. was founded in 1980 and offers products that range from power tools, servomotors, to gear boxes. The company has several cutting edge technologies that allow it to become a key global supplier of micro and precision electrical machinery. Sha Yang Ye started working with Hi-Life on this day to release the Life-ET smart lifestyle service robot for convenient stores. Smart facial recognition systems were integrated, offering smart services for customers who want to buy tickets, make traveling and recreational reservations, and pay utility bills. Sha Yang Ye also introduced formal robotics programming training courses from Japan that include instructions for programming languages, smart developments, and other tools for supporting education. Children will learn how to build robots with their own hands to help induce mental development.

Mayor Cheng said that robots from the Sha Yang Ye Robotic Dreams Future Factory would incorporate the multicultural diversity of Taoyuan, symbolizing the integration of the robotics industry and cultural innovation. Such efforts will make robotics part of our lifestyles, cultural landscape, and education in order to fill the robotics industry with fun and challenges. Sha Yang Ye has now released over 30 types of robots that specialize in martial combat, musical performance, and temple parades (San Taizi, the third prince), and represent a unique development in the robotics sector.

Taoyuan shall become a key hub for developing the Internet of Things (IoT) sector, and an important pilot site for testing new advances in Industry 4.0, Smart City, and Smart Industries. Guishan is home to many businesses that include Sha Yang Ye Robotics, Coca-Cola, and Namchow Corporation Dian Shui Lou. Corporate headquarters of BenQ, HTC, and Delta Electronics are also located in the district, providing it with a well-established industrial foundation.
