Taipei, The weather across Taiwan will be sunny on Saturday, with chances of rain in mountainous areas in the afternoon due to greater moisture, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Daytime highs will range between 31-34 degrees Celsius throughout the country, with a high level of ultraviolet radiation around noon, CWB forecaster Wu Yi-fan (???) said.
From Sunday to Wednesday, temperatures in northern and eastern Taiwan are expected to fall to 24 degrees, with strong rainfall in mountainous areas as a result of approaching northeasterly winds, according to Wu.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Trami has formed over the Pacific.
Trami, which was located 2,150 kilometers east southeast off Eluanbi in southern Taiwan as of 8:00 a.m. Saturday, is moving at 23 kilometers per hour in a west northwesterly direction toward Japan's Okinawa.
Although Trami is expected to have no impact on Taiwan in the short term, it is forecast to come closest to Taiwan next Thursday or Friday and will bring rainfall to northern and eastern parts of the country by that time, according to the CWB.
Meteorologist Daniel Wu (???) said Trami could affect Taiwan if it continues to gain strength and if it develops into a typhoon by the time it gets near Taiwan on Thursday and Friday.
