Taipei, -A system malfunction on the Taipei Metro's Wenhu Line caused significant service delays for about an hour Wednesday, according to the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation.
The malfunction, which took place at 5:33 p.m. on a train traveling from Liuzhangli Station to Linguang Station, was rectified at 6:37 p.m., the company said.
During the affected period, the train was stuck between stations, and as a result, services between Nanjing Fuxing and Xinhai stations could only run at 12-minute intervals, the company said.
Services between the affected stations to their respective nearest terminals (Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center and Taipei Zoo) ran normally every four minutes, it added.
The cause of the malfunction and the number of passengers affected remained unclear as of press time.
