Hualien, Taroko National Park will hold its annual outdoor music festival on Oct. 24 this year, headlined by the Taiwanese pianist Eric Chen (陳冠宇) and South Korean baritone Ilhun Jung, according to the park’s headquarters.
The 19th Taroko Music Festival will also feature performances by the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Rainbow Spiral World Percussion, and Taroko and Amis indigenous musicians.
All of the performances will be livestreamed on the park’s Facebook and Youtube pages.
Chen and Jung will be standing in for the originally scheduled headline act, Canadian singer-songwriter Matthew Lien, who had to cancel his appearance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, park officials said at a promotional event on Thursday.
The festival will take place at Taroko Terrace near the park headquarters. The site sits above the scenic Liwu River estuary and is also home to the popular Taroko Terrace Trail.
