Temperature hits 38.3 degrees Celsius in Taipei

Taipei--The mercury rose to 38.3 degrees Celsius in Taipei at 11:57 a.m. Monday, a record high in Taiwan so far this year, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said.

In other northern areas of the country and in Hualien and Taitung in the east, daytime highs were expected to range between 36 and 37 degrees, the CWB said.
