Two videos promoting travel to Taiwan have received awards from an influential travel industry newspaper in the United States, according to Super Value Tours, which produced the films.
The U.S.-based travel agency said on Tuesday that its films, “On the Menu: Taiwan” and “10-Day Taiwan Island,” won two “2016 Travel Weekly Magellan Awards” in September.
In the films, which are both less than two minutes in length, viewers are introduced to gourmet food, scenic views and life styles in Taiwan.
The agency said its films, available on YouTube, can be viewed as microcinema, an art form it uses to showcase the best Taiwan has to offer in a limited period of time.
The films are more than just promotional tools, they also serve as snapshots of things that are quintessential Taiwanese, the company said.
Travel Weekly says its annual awards “honor the best in travel and salute the outstanding travel professionals behind it all.”
