Taipei-Taiwan's Chen Ying-chu skated to victory in the women's 500 meter roller sports final at the Taipei Universiade on Wednesday.
Chen, who competed against athletes from Colombia, South Korea and Taiwan in the final, won the gold with a time of 43.739 seconds.
She narrowly beat out Colombian competitor Maria Fernanda Timms Ariza, who finished less than one tenth of a second behind with 43.802 seconds.
The gold medalist finished first in her preliminary heat and semifinal.
Chen's gold medal is Taiwan's sixth gold in roller sports and tenth overall at the Universiade.
Taiwan's Yang Ho-chen, who was also in the 500 meter sprint, won the bronze medal with a time of 52.462 seconds despite colliding with South Korea competitor Shin Soyeong midway through the race.
