Taipei, Warm weather is expected across Taiwan in the coming week, as temperatures have begun to rebound, the Central Weather Bureau said Saturday.
On Saturday, daytime highs will rise to 26-28 degrees Celsius in western Taiwan and 24 degrees in eastern Taiwan, according to CWB forecaster Lin Ding-yi (???).
However, the mercury dropped to 11.8 degrees and 11.9 degrees in Hsinchu and Banqiao early Saturday morning, respectively, due to the effects of radioactive cooling, he noted.
Lin reminded the public to beware of sharp drops in temperatures in the early morning and at night in the coming days.
According to Lin, a weak moisture system will likely approach Taiwan on Monday and bring sporadic rain to mountainous areas in northern and eastern Taiwan, and cloudy skies for the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, a depression has formed near Guam and will likely develop into a storm later Saturday and further strengthen into the third typhoon of this year on Sunday or Monday.
