Taiwan Water Corp. has suspended the supply of water to parts of New Taipei and Taoyuan from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday, the company said.
The 23-hour suspension was needed to accommodate maintenance and construction at the Danan Water Treatment Plant in Taoyuan, the company said, noting that the temporary cutoff of the water supply will affect 410,000 households.
The areas affected include Taoyuan, Dayuan, Bade, Guishan and Luzhu districts in Taoyuan and Linkou and Wugu districts in New Taipei, according to information on the move provided on the company's website.
People in the affected areas are advised to shut down water pump motors to prevent the motors from running too long and generating enough heat to ignite a fire.
