Wu Hsin-hsing encourages Taiwanese business people in Vietnam to help promote the New Southbound Policy

Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Wu Hsin-hsing attended the opening ceremony of 2nd Joint Meeting of directors and supervisors of the 24th Asia Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (ASTCC) on December 3rd, conveying the importance the R.O.C. government attaches to Taiwanese business people in Asia and its cares for them on behalf of President Tsai Ing-wen. He encouraged them to use their local connections and market channels to promote the New Southbound Policy.

Nearly 800 members and guests from 15 countries and regions attended the Meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on December 3rd to discuss economic and trade issues.

Minister Wu stated that Asia's Taiwanese business people enthusiastically assist Taiwan and the countries of ASEAN to maintain close interaction with respect to economy, trade, culture and other areas and can be regarded as important promoters of the government's New Southbound Policy. The ASTCC has established chapters in 15 countries and regions, showing Taiwan's economic and trade strengths. Representing the government of Vietnam, Dr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman, Committee for Taiwan Affairs, welcomed investment by Taiwanese business people in Vietnam and said the government will continue to help and provide guarantees.
