(AEROTHAI), said that 'Regarding the flood situation in Chiang Rai Province, the Deputy Minister of Transport (Mr. Surapong Piyachote) has ordered the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand to closely monitor the situation and prepare for emergency situations. The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand is ready to provide air traffic services to support all flights safely. Today (13 September 2014), airlines have resumed service on the Chiang Rai route with 16 flights: 4 Thai Air Asia flights, 4 Nok Air flights, 4 Thai Airways flights, and 4 Thai Lion Air flights. In addition, there are flights from government agencies and the military, as well as helicopters that are performing rescue operations. The air traffic services are proceeding smoothly. As for the flood situation, the water level has started to decrease. The runway, taxiway, navigation aid stations, and electrical systems are operating normally. The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand staff housing areas are still flooded, but the services are not affected.' The Director of the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand added that the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand is prepared to provide air traffic services in terms of equipment systems, reserve personnel for both air traffic controllers and engineers, and prepare a contingency plan.
