CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan reports four new COVID-19 cases, one death

Taiwan on Tuesday reported four new COVID-19 cases -- three transmitted domestically and one contracted overseas -- and one death from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

Of the domestic cases, two were reported in New Taipei and one in Taipei.

The new cases bring the total in Taiwan to 15,995, of which 14,364 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 COVID-19 cases in a single day.

The single death was a man in his 60s who passed away on Aug. 30, according to the CECC.

To date, 835 people have died of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 823 since May 15.
