A third cinema in Taichung announced on Tuesday that it will suspend business from Feb. 16 due to the domestic spread of COVID-19, adding that it looks forward to re-opening in the near future.
"Thank you for supporting Kbro Cinema. Due to business adjustments, Kbro Cinema will continue to operate as normal until Feb. 15, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future, with a new look," the company said on its official website.
Kbro Cinema, located on the fourth floor of Taroko Mall near downtown Taichung Train Station, is the third movie theater in the special municipality to temporarily close, after Wovie Cinemas and Ambassador Theatres made did so last year, also as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that has severely impacted the local entertainment industry.
In October, Taichung International Animation Festival was held at Kbro Cinema.
With the suspension of business at Kbro Cinema, ShowTimes Cinemas will be the only movie theater still operating in Taichung's East District.
