DDPM-Army join forces to send helicopters and rescue workers to reinforce flood relief team in the North

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and the Royal Thai Army have joined forces to send a KA-32 helicopter and rescue workers from the DDPM 32 helicopter, 'The Guardian Team,' to reinforce the flood relief team in the North. Mr. Chaiwat Junthiraphong, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), revealed that currently, many areas in the North are experiencing flash floods and forest runoff, including 5 provinces: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, and Phetchabun, with many areas having high flood levels and areas that are cut off from traffic, making it impossible to travel by car. It is necessary to transport survival goods by air. In this regard, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, is concerned about the people affected by the flood in the northern region. Therefore, he has ordered the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) to collaborate with the Royal Thai Army (RTA) to send a KA-32 disaster relief h elicopter, along with rescue workers from the DDPM 32 helicopter, 'The Guardian Team,' to support the mission to help flood victims in the northern region and prepare for any disasters that may occur in the area, starting from today (August 24) onwards until the mission is over.
