"Ekanat", Minister of Industry, revealed that the fire at Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate has been controlled. He emphasized strict control of chemical leakage and close care and compensation for the people in the surrounding area. Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Minister of Industry, revealed that from the fire situation of Thai Plastic Chemicals Co., Ltd., located in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, I-1 Road, Map Ta Phut Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong Province at approximately 12.10 p.m. today (September 22, 2024), the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate has now controlled the fire and he has ordered the Industrial Estate Authority to strictly control chemical and toxic leaks. During the incident, people were evacuated from the area and no one was injured. Initial findings indicate that the incident occurred during the production process. The leaked chemicals can be isolated and have not spread to the chemical storage tanks. The latest at 3:45 p.m., air quality measurements found that it had returned to the standard. Officials from the Industrial Estate Authority, together with the company, went to the area to inspect the situation in order to closely provide care and assistance to people in nearby communities.
