Taipei: EVA Airways (EVA Air) has announced a new partnership with Air Macau to introduce codeshare services on flights linking Taiwan and the Chinese special administrative region, Macau. The collaboration aims to enhance flight options and connectivity for passengers traveling between these regions.
According to Focus Taiwan, the Taiwanese carrier revealed that the codeshare flights will encompass routes operated by both airlines. EVA Air will cover routes including Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, and Macau, while Air Macau will operate between Macau and the Taiwanese cities of Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. The new services, set to commence on March 30, will allow passengers greater flexibility and easier access to other Chinese destinations via Air Macau.
Chief Executive Vice President of EVA Air, Liao Chi-wei, highlighted the partnership as a response to the rising demand for convenient air travel. Air Macau Vice President, Zhang Yun, echoed this sentiment, noting that the collaboration will improve Air Macau's service offerings and enhance convenience for travelers to and from Macau. As aviation travel demand grows, this partnership is expected to open up more opportunities for both airlines and boost Macau International Airport's connectivity.
Currently, EVA Air operates 21 weekly flights between Taoyuan, Kaohsiung, and Macau, while Air Macau manages approximately 42 flights per week connecting Taoyuan, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Macau.
