French Artist to Illustrate Comic on Taiwan Based on 2025 Residency

Taipei: Christopher Boyd, a French comic artist, has announced plans to create a visual journal depicting his experiences in Taiwan after completing a one-year residency in 2025. Boyd intends to employ his eccentric and comedic style to bring his observations to life in this new project.

According to Focus Taiwan, Boyd was born in 1993 in Toulouse, France, and is currently based in Taiwan as the recipient of the "Villa Formose 2025" art residency program, organized by the French Office in Taipei. His work will focus on capturing the essence of Taiwan through video content and comic form.

Boyd, who lives with multiple disabilities that influence his approach to simplification, aims to convey the nuances of Taiwan's beauty. He plans to draw inspiration from his previous works, including the popular book "Moi, dyslexique" (Me, dyslexic) and the "Journal de Penghu" (Penghu Journal) series he completed in 2024.
