Hyundai Motor Co on Thursday reported its second-quarter net profit of 4.17 trillion won (US$3 billion), up 24.7 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that operating income for the April-June period rose 0.7 percent on-year to 4.27 trillion won. Revenue increased 6.6 percent to 45.02 trillion won. The earnings exceeded market expectations.
