Chinese Consul General Zhu Xinglong stated that the scholarship programs are expected to help increase understanding of the Chinese language and culture, as well as strengthen China's relations with Indonesia. He also emphasized that the Chinese Consulate General encourages young Indonesians to learn the Mandarin language through the Kang Chingwie scholarship and cultural exchange program. Mandarin education scholarships are awarded annually, and 2023 marks the sixth year of the program's implementation. The scholarship has been granted to more than a thousand students and teachers.
