Olympic silver medalist Yang Yung-wei (???) was named Taiwan's best male athlete for the second year in a row, at the 2022 Sports Elite Awards in Taipei Friday.

Yang, Taiwan's first-ever judo Olympic medalist, is the second male athlete to secure repeat honors at the Sports Elite Awards after gymnast Lee Chih-kai (???).
Lin Yu-ting (???), winner of the featherweight division at the 2022 IBA World Women's Boxing Championship, was named the year's best female athlete.

The award for best outstanding sports team went to the ladies who won the tug-of-war gold medal in the 540-kilogram division at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama.
Yang's coach Liu Wen-teng (???), meanwhile, beat out two other contenders, including Lin's trainer John Tseng (???), to win the best coach award.
High school gymnast Chuang Chia-lung (???) was given the award for best newcomer, while the best sports spirit award went to female middleweight boxer Chen Nien-chin (???) who fought for Taiwan at the Tokyo Olympics while undergoing treatment for lymphoma.
