25 August - Landslide in high-speed railway tunnel, Khlong Khanan Chit section, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, 3 workers missing, urgently rescued but not yet reached the scene. Last night, there was an accident in the Thai-Chinese high-speed railway tunnel, Khlong Khanan Chit section, Tambon Chan Thuek, Amphoe Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. A landslide buried workers while they were digging a tunnel. At the railway tunnel excavation site, the Sawang Metta Foundation rescue unit and the contractor mobilized backhoes to dig soil and put it in trucks to help the workers who were trapped in the tunnel. Asking the site staff, they said that at the time of the incident, workers were using a backhoe and a bulldozer to dig a tunnel 600 meters deep from the tunnel entrance. Suddenly, a landslide fell and crushed all 3 cars. Three workers are missing. Currently, officials are helping them but their fate is still unknown.
