Betong: A landslide caused significant damage to the parking lot behind the Betong Municipality building in Yala Province, affecting numerous vehicles. The incident resulted in several cars and motorcycles being trapped, with some vehicles sliding through a wall and into the municipal office. According to Thai News Agency, the landslide occurred on a public holiday, which fortunately meant fewer cars were parked in the lot. Had it been a regular workday, the damage could have been far more extensive, potentially leading to chaos. In response to the incident, officials promptly cordoned off the area to prevent further ground movement and took swift action to relocate important documents and belongings. The Mayor of Betong City has expressed optimism that the office building itself remains unaffected. However, as a precautionary measure, engineers and relevant authorities are set to conduct thorough inspections of the building's structural integrity to ensure safety.
