Taipei: A northeasterly wind system will continue to affect northern and eastern Taiwan over the next few days, bringing mild temperatures and a chance of rain, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
According to Focus Taiwan, CWA forecaster Huang En-hung stated that although the wind system will weaken slightly on Thursday, it will continue to influence Taiwan's weather through Saturday. During this period, brief, scattered showers are expected in Greater Taipei and eastern Taiwan, with isolated showers possible in mountainous areas and southern Taiwan.
Slightly wetter conditions are anticipated on Sunday, with scattered showers forecast in areas north of Taoyuan, eastern Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula in the south. As the new workweek begins, drier weather is expected, as per the CWA.
The CWA also forecast that temperatures will remain relatively stable through the weekend, with highs of 29-31 degrees Celsius in northern and eastern Taiwan and 32-33 degrees in central and southern Taiwan. Nationwide overnight lows are expected to range between 23 and 25 degrees.
Meanwhile, a tropical depression located about 3,000 kilometers east of Taiwan could potentially strengthen into a tropical storm overnight, but it is projected to move northwest toward Japan.
