Min Hee-jin, the CEO of the music label ADOR, behind girl group NewJeans, appeared before police Tuesday for questioning over a breach of trust complaint involving a suspected attempt to break away from the parent company, Hybe. Min presented herself at the Yongsan Police Station in central Seoul to be questioned for the first time over the complaint filed in April by Hybe, home to super band BTS and the biggest K-pop powerhouse. Hybe accused Min of plotting with ADOR executives to seize control of the label, which is currently 80 percent owned by Hybe, and take the girl band with her after rendering ADOR a "shell" company. Min denied the allegation as she appeared for questioning, telling reporters, "(The charge of) breach of trust does not make any sense." She has previously claimed that it is impossible to seize control of ADOR under its current ownership structure. In May, a Seoul court granted an injunction filed by Min to stop Hybe from dismissing her as the CEO of ADOR, and she retained her seat during a subsequent shareholders' meeting.
