(Olympics) S. Korea suffers 2nd straight loss in women’s handball

South Korea absorbed its second straight loss in women's handball at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday, as its slim knockout hopes faded further. South Korea lost to Norway 26-20 in its third Group A match of the women's handball tournament at South Paris Arena 6 in Paris. South Korea remained in fifth place among six nations in Group A with two points, on a win and two losses. The team opened the competition with a 23-22 win over Germany last Thursday but has dropped two straight matches since. Slovenia also has two points but trail South Korea in goal difference, -12 to -20. With matches against European giants Sweden and Denmark remaining, South Korea faces an uphill battle to crack the top four in the group and book a spot in the quarterfinals. Against Norway, the runner-up at last year's world championships, South Korea battled hard early before running out of steam.
