Phahonyothin Road, on the way up, at km. 815-816, Ban Maokanarai Diao, Maeka Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province, has collapsed for a distance of more than 50 meters, making the way up impassable. At approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning, an accident occurred on the Phahonyothin Road heading north, at kilometer marker 815-816, in Village 14, Ban Maokanarai Diao, Mae Ka Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province, where the road on the northbound side collapsed for a distance of more than 50 meters. The road on the northbound side is impassable because the two-lane road on the northbound side has almost completely collapsed. Many vehicles had to use only one lane on the southbound side after Phahonyothin Road, at kilometer marker 815-816 in Village No. 14, Ban Mae Kanarai Diao, collapsed for a distance of more than 50 meters. The upward-bound road to Phayao and Chiang Rai Province is impassable. It is believed that this was due to the recent heavy and continuous rain that caused the road along the stream to collapse and become damaged. At the time of the incident, there were no passersby, so there was no damage to life or property. Currently, rescue workers and highway officials have blocked the road to prevent vehicles from passing through. Vehicles can only use the downward lane. Source: Thai News Agency
