Pheu Thai reclaims "Dr. Ong's" seat, nominates "Pichet" to sit as the 1st Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives instead, confident that Bhumjaithai sending someone to sit as the 2nd Deputy Speaker is appropriate. Mr. Danupon Punnakan, MP for the party list and spokesman for the Pheu Thai Party, gave an interview about the results of the Pheu Thai Party meeting regarding the position of Deputy Speaker of the House after Mr. Pichet Chueamuangphan resigned from the position of Second Deputy Speaker of the House. He said that in the Pheu Thai Party meeting, there was a discussion and it was announced that Mr. Pichet had resigned from the position and the Pheu Thai Party had resolved to send Mr. Pichet's name to the position of First Deputy Speaker of the House. When asked if there had been any discussion with the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Danupon admitted that there had been discussions and that the Bhumjaithai Party would send someone it deemed appropriate to be the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the House. Howe ver, when the incident with Mr. Pradipat Santipada, the former 1st Deputy Speaker of the House, occurred, it was concluded that the Pheu Thai Party had to return to being the 1st Deputy Speaker of the House to maintain its proportion in the House. And if the Speaker of the House is on a mission, on leave, or on an overseas mission, at least the 1st Deputy Speaker of the House still controls the majority of votes in the House. Therefore, the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the House will be the proportion of the Bhumjaithai Party.-314. Source: Thai News Agency
