Police arrest suspect in Atlanta hospital shooting

WASHINGTON, May 4 - US officials say Police arrested a man suspected of shooting five people, including one dead, at a hospital in the US city of Atlanta on Wednesday.

officials said One person was killed and four were injured. The suspect, identified as Dion Patterson, opened fire in the hospital waiting room just before noon local time. Or exactly before midnight on Wednesday in Thailand, after which Panterson stole a truck and drove him out of the hospital. He left the car at a nearby gas station and fled, police chasing him through the night. Patterson was arrested outside Cobb County, which borders Atlanta.

As the victims were all female, between the ages of 25 and 71, it is too early to determine if he specifically intended to shoot anyone. The suspect's family cooperated well with the police in the investigation.

President Joe Biden has been informed about the incident. A White House spokeswoman said Mr Biden would seek measures to deal with such violence. She said Americans should be safe wherever they travel.
